We admire few , we get intimidated by other few . To be right and popular, we follow the one who is never wrong and being made fun of. We start emulating their thoughts, choices and ultimately their lifestyle. Every person is endowed with their individual thoughts but we curb them with the fear of them not being liked by others. In the process, we start moving away from the real self. We do not let ourselves grow and learn with time and experiences . We develop a habit of aping others, we become dependent upon the decision of others , we do not develop our own perspectives and eventually we lose our identity.
The contentment in true sense can be achieved by being oneself. To be honest about your thoughts, your ideas, your likes and dislikes helps you develop into a person who is unique and only one in the world. Neither judge nor let others judge you for the way you think, the way you eat or for the things you like. Dont seek approval from others , but from GOD. Initially you might falter, make mistakes and fail in whatever you do but then with every failure you will have an apportunity to learn and grow which others might never come accross. The virtues of life can be imbibed in a person not through reading or observing others experiences but by going through one of his own. The person becomes independent , confident and learns to love himself .They are able to make their own decisions no matter what it leads to and at the end of the day they are content as they know they have a skill to make a decision and to learn from every wrong one.
I guess by now you must have realised how important it is to let your true self come out and let it bring joy, happiness and contentment to you. When we learn to value and accept oursleves , we learn to cope positively with our diabilities , we feel better about ourselves and others love us for who we are and not for what we can do.
In the end, i would like to put my favorite quote with this blog...
" To be oneself, and unafraid whether right or wrong, is more admirable than the easy cowardice of surrender to conformity. -Irving Wallace "

Geetu :-)
